CARE GUIDE-APPLIANCES 09-VACUUM

STRONGCORE GRIT

Tenant Usage + Upkeep Guide

1️⃣ Daily Usage – What Tenants MUST Follow

Use AUTO Mode for Normal Cleaning

This model has an Auto Dust-Sensing Mode.

In AUTO, the vacuum adjusts suction power based on how dusty the floor is.

This gives:

Better battery life

Quieter operation

Less wear on the motor

Rule:

➡️ Tenants should start in AUTO for all normal cleaning.
➡️ Use higher power modes only for short deep-clean spots, not the whole house.

Only Vacuum Dry Dust, Hair & Crumbs

This is a dry cordless vacuum – NOT a wet cleaner.

Safe for:

Dust

Hair

Light crumbs

Dry dirt on hard floors and rugs

Not allowed:

Liquids or wet spills

Food waste, sauces, oil

Construction dust, sand piles, stones or glass

Reason:

Wet or heavy debris clogs the filters, overloads the motor, and can damage the unit permanently.

Empty the Dust Bin at the MAX Line

The dust bin has a MAX line.

If dust goes beyond this:

Suction drops

Motor works harder

Dust can blow back into the air

Rule:

➡️ Tenants must empty the dust bin whenever it reaches the MAX line or after any big clean.

Check the Brush for Hair Tangles

The motorised floor head easily picks up long hair.

If hair wraps around the brush:

The brush slows

Floor pick-up becomes weak

Motor may overheat

Tenant’s job:

Turn vacuum OFF

Flip the floor head

If you see hair wrapped on the brush, cut gently with scissors and pull it out

Return to the Charging/Storage Point Properly

After use, the vacuum should be:

Switched off

Placed at its designated parking/charging spot

Battery left to charge if low

This ensures:

Machine is always ready

No one trips over it

Battery is maintained consistently

3️⃣ What Tenants MUST NOT Do (Critical to Protect Your Appliance)

Do NOT Vacuum Liquids or Wet Spills

This is the fastest way to destroy a cordless vacuum.

Liquids inside the motor or battery area can lead to:

Short-circuit

Corrosion

Fire risk

Any sign of liquid intake should be reported immediately.

Do NOT Use It for Renovation / Heavy Debris

No:

Cement dust

Sand piles

Plaster, paint chips

Glass shards, metal pieces, stones

These damage:

The brush

The internal cyclone

The motor and filters

Any renovation cleaning should be done with proper industrial equipment, not the GRIT.

Do NOT Run MAX Power for the Whole House

MAX mode is meant for:

Short bursts

Stubborn corners

Deep-cleaning small areas

If used on MAX for the entire unit:

Battery life drops fast

Motor heats up

Long-term wear increases

Rule:

➡️ Use AUTO for most cleaning.
➡️ Use High/Max only in short sections, then go back to AUTO.

Do NOT Refit Wet Filters or Use Without Filters

If washed, filters must be 100% dry before use.

Wet filters cause:

Bad smell

Bacteria growth

Dust clumping → blockages

Risk of internal rust and motor damage

Using the vacuum without filters sends dust straight into the motor and out into the air.

Do NOT Tamper With Battery, Charger or Internal Screws

Tenants must NOT:

Open the battery casing

Use third-party chargers

Unscrew the body or motor section

All internal issues and replacements are handled by landlord / authorised technician only.

2️⃣ Weekly Care – The Minimum Tenant Requirements

Empty & Wipe the Dust Bin

Once a week (or sooner if you vacuum often), tenants should:

Remove the dust bin

Open the flap and empty into a rubbish bag

Wipe the inside lightly with a dry or slightly damp cloth

Let it dry fully before clicking back

NO:

No soaking in water

No harsh chemicals

✔ Quick Filter Check (NO Wet Filter Use)

The GRIT has internal filters that keep fine dust inside the vacuum.

If filters are clogged:

Suction drops

Motor strains

Battery drains faster

Weekly rule:

Check if the filter area looks heavily dusty

Lightly tap loose dust into the bin (if easily accessible)

Do NOT reinstall any filter that is still damp

Filter washing / replacement schedule will be handled by landlord.

✔ Brush Head Maintenance

Once a week, or when hair is visible:

Remove the floor brush (using the release button if provided)

Clear hair, string and dust around the brush and side caps

Wipe the clear window with a dry cloth

Tenants must NOT:

Use water on the motorised head

Pull on wiring or force open sealed parts

4️⃣ Troubleshooting Guide (What Tenant Should Try FIRST)

❗ 1. Weak Suction

Check:

Is the dust bin full?

→ Empty to below MAX.

Is the vacuum in LOW mode by mistake?

→ Switch to AUTO for normal cleaning.

Is there hair tangled around the floor brush?

→ Turn OFF, clear hair carefully.

If suction is still weak after this → notify landlord.

2. Vacuum Cuts Out / Overheats

Causes:

Blocked airflow (dust bin/filters packed)

Hair blockage in brush

Running too long on MAX mode

Tenant’s steps:

Switch OFF and let the unit cool for 15–20 mins

Empty dust bin

Check & clear brush head

Restart in AUTO

If it cuts off again quickly → stop using and notify landlord.

3. Vacuum Won’t Turn On / No Power

Check:

Is the battery properly clicked in?

Is there any charge left (check indicator)?

Has it been left on the charger long enough?

If still dead:

Try a different wall socket (to rule out socket issue)

Do NOT start opening parts or using another random charger

Then → notify landlord with:

Photo of the vacuum

Photo of any indicator lights / error icons

4. Strange Smell / Noise

Warning signs:

Burning smell from the motor or brush

Loud grinding, rattling or high-pitched whine

Visible smoke / excessive heat

Tenant must:

Switch OFF immediately

Do NOT use again

Do NOT try to “test one more time”

Inform landlord at once with:
