CARE GUIDE-APPLIANCES 03-DRYER

MIDEA MD200H80T

Tenant Usage + Upkeep Guide

1️⃣ Daily Usage – What Tenants MUST Follow

1. Clean the Lint Filter Before Every Use

This is the #1 mandatory step for ALL heat pump dryers.

If not cleaned:

Drying time becomes very long

Machine overheats

Heat pump efficiency drops

Fire risk increases

Location: Inside the door frame → pull up the filter
Instruction for tenants:

Remove lint → rinse under water → dry → reinstall.

2. Clean the Secondary Filter Weekly

Midea MD200H80T also has a secondary filter (front bottom flap).

Tenant must:

Open the bottom cover

Remove filter

Rinse under cold water

Dry completely

Reinsert

This is critical because heat pump dryers trap moisture.

3. Load Size = ½ to ¾ Full

Heat pump dryers are efficient but slow when overloaded.

Overloading causes:

Longer drying times

Clothes still damp

Drum imbalance

Motor strain

Max recommended: 5–6kg for best performance
(not the full labelled 8kg)

4. Shake Out Clothes Before Placing In

Prevents tangling and uneven drying.

5. Select Correct Program

Simplify for tenants:

Cotton / Normal → everyday clothes

Bedding → bedsheets/towels

Mix / Synthetic → light fabrics

Quick 30 → small loads only

6. Empty Condensate Water (If Not Auto-Drain)

Some units are auto-drain into piping, others have a tank.

If your unit has a tank → tenants must empty it when full.

When tank is full → machine stops automatically.

2️⃣ Weekly Care – Tenant Responsibilities

Clean door gasket

Same as washer — moisture builds here.

Clean secondary filter (as mentioned above)

Must reinforce this twice.

Wipe inside drum with dry cloth

Prevents lint buildup.

Ensure ventilation around the dryer

Do not block airflow vents on sides or bottom.

3️⃣ What Tenants MUST NOT Do (Critical)

Do NOT dry heavy, dripping-wet laundry

This floods the heat pump.

Dry laundry in 2 parts:

Spin dry in washer first

THEN dry in dryer

Do NOT overload with thick items

E.g., blankets, thick towels, winter jackets.

Risk:

Heat pump overload

Motor strain

Dryer shutting off mid-cycle

High repair cost

Do NOT block front air intake

Tenants often push baskets/shoes in front of dryer vents — dangerous.

Do NOT dry the following (chargeable damage):

Shoes

Rugs

Carpets

Pet items

Oily rags

Wet pillows

Foam materials
These melt or overheat and damage sensors.

Do NOT remove the sensor covers

Some tenants tamper with moisture sensors. Huge fire risk.

4️⃣ Troubleshooting Guide

1. Clothes still damp

Check:

Is lint filter cleaned?

Is secondary filter cleaned?

Load too big?

Mixed fabrics?

Tenant action:
➡️ Reduce load
➡️ Run 20–30 mins extra dry

2. Dryer stops mid-cycle

Cause:

Water tank full

Overheat

Blocked filter

Tenant action:
➡️ Empty tank
➡️ Clean filters
➡️ Restart

3. Burning smell / overheating

STOP immediately.
Caused by:

Lint build-up

Overload

Blocked vents

Tenant action:
➡️ Stop machine
➡️ Clean lint
➡️ Inform landlord

4. Noise / knocking sound

Causes:

Tangled heavy items

Hard items inside pockets

Drum imbalance

Tenant action:
➡️ Pause
➡️ Untangle
➡️ Restart
